Our products are defined by what was concealed

We exist to remove stigma by turning genuine research and case studies into limited, collectible drops. Transforming real intelligence into design — so believers, researchers, and the curious can wear their perspective with pride. Fashion becomes the medium to normalise the conversation, connect the community, and give credibility to a subject long denied it.

Astronauts and UFOs

From test pilots turned moonwalkers to shuttle veterans and ISS commanders, astronauts have occasionally described things that defy easy explanation. The instagram carousel collects on-record quotes about UFOs/UAP that includes what they saw, what they wondered, and when they said it. So you can weigh the words of the people who’ve actually been to space.

See below for the list of sources provided for each of the astronauts included in this post:

"I happen to be privileged enough to be in on the fact that we have been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomenon is real. It has been covered up by governments for quite some time now."

— Captain Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14 Astronaut

"For nearly 50 years, the secrecy apparatus within the United States Government has kept from the public UFO and alien contact information."

"We have contact with alien cultures."

— Astronaut Dr. Brian O'Leary

"...I've been asked [about UFOs] and I've said publicly I thought they [UFOs] were somebody else, some other civilization."

— Astronaut Eugene Cernan, Apollo 17 Commander

Source: LA Times, 1973 (Google Gemini verifies this, but unfortunately no clipping can be found online). Eugene has been very vocal about UFOs in the past.

"I believe that these extraterrestrial vehicles and their crews are visiting this planet from other planets which obviously are a little more technically advanced than we are here on Earth."

— Colonel Gordon Cooper, Mercury & Gemini Astronaut

World War 2 Fighters vs the mystery lights

Allied night fighters reported glowing orbs pacing their aircraft in 1944–45

What were the Foo Fighters?

Before Dave Grohl used the term to name his band, Foo Fighters referred to unexplained phenomena in the skies experienced by allied pilots and sailors.

They were described as glowing objects in a variety of colours that followed planes through the skies and moved faster than any known technology to the pilots at the time. Crews reported them as real-time flight hazards, not rumours.

The U.S. 415th Night Fighter Squadron popularised “Foo Fighter” in late 1944 after repeated night encounters over the Rhine Valley and intel sections began collecting narratives in debriefs.

The public first heard about these due to an AP dispatch reaching U.S. papers on Jan 1–2, 1945, framing “balls of fire” stalking American fighters and coverage quickly spread to the New York Times and TIME.

Military chiefs rushed to explain the craft in official reports as Nazi or Japanese secret weapons. No attacks were reported.

What did the pilots actually see?

Pilots described them as round, glowing lights described as red/orange/white and sometimes as “Christmas-tree lights” keeping station on the wingline. They were often single or paired, occasionally clusters, with some reports of rapid, playful manoeuvres before a clean vanish.

Foo Fighters could pace night fighters through turns and climbs, then break off instantly. No hostile action was ever noted and no obvious radar return despite visual contact.

Pilots ruled out tracers, enemy weapons and St.Elmos fires due to the behaviour of the Foo Fighters.

What do we think?

The main hypothesis for Foo Fighters are as follows:

• St. Elmo’s fire / corona discharge on aircraft surfaces during electrical storms. Pilots dismissed this theory.

• Ice-crystal reflections / autokinesis (i.e., visual illusions on night ops). Foo Fighters were also witnessed during the day.

• Ball lightning / plasma. This is an extremely rare phenomenon.

All of the above were floated by the 1953 Robertson Panel but there is still no single fit all answer, and they remain unexplained.

Where does this leave us?

These encounters remain as unresolved historical UFOs.

Genuine reports by trained crews in combat, with mundane explanations may fit some cases, but not all.

HOW THE EU TALKS UFOS

A 2024 FOIA shows how the European Commission frames UFOs.

  • On 23 Sept 2024, FOIA campaigner Chris Gaffney released a memo prepared for President Ursula von der Leyen and Commissioner Gabriel.
  • FOIA lets anyone request government records; agencies must release them unless a legal exemption applies.
  • The memo references “interplanetary space surveillance,” hinting at a space-domain lens for UFOs.

'Unidentified aerial phenomena… have been puzzling humankind for as long as we have known…’

Why it matters

  • UFOs receive top table attention as the memo addressed on UFO enquiries up to von der Leyen/Gabriel.
  • UFOS are considered when shaping policy as the memo points to space-domain/surveillance (not just airspace).
  • The one has shifted, as this memo is more focused on UFOs compared to some aviation-authority lines heard in Parliament.

What it doesn’t say

  • No new data/evidence. It’s framing, not a dataset.
  • This does not confirm an EU UFO program.

THE GATEWAY EXPERIENCE

The ‘Gateway Experience’ was a structured mind training programme, based in the Monroe Institute. It used headphone audio, guided meditation, hypnosis, and visualisation to sync brainwaves, thus shifting consciousness into specific ‘focus’ states. These states are deeper, altered states of human awareness that enhances awareness beyond normal sensory focus, removes sense of time, and separates the physical body from consciousness, perceiving reality from a different vantage point’.
